While some things will never feel normal again, one thing has remained the same. Diehard fans continue to lose patience with their beloved teams. The Yankees are not immune to this and with a shortened season the frustration is louder than ever.
Fans from other teams in baseball sometimes can only imagine the euphoria of having their teams be as successful as the New York Yankees and shake their heads at times of the entitled attitude of Yankee fans. How dare we complain when our team has given us so much to be happy for? Who do we think we are to feel so empowered?
Then again, we are empowered, 27 World Series titles gives us that chip on our shoulder. We remind everyone every chance we can don't we? Dynasty after dynasty over a century of excellence will do that. With the Yankees facing a drought the fans have never seen tempers are boiling over. Fans have had enough and not just with the players but also among themselves.
Yankee fans have reached a point where they are running out of people to blame so what is the next move? When we see this group of players bring us back to glory? We all know rooting for another team is never an option, as it never should be, but what are our options? Do we continue to let subpar performances negatively affect our lives or do we just keep both feet in the batters box grinding it out till we have something to cheer for?
